Everything you need to know about selling homemade food from your kitchen in Washington.
Washington requires cottage food producers to submit detailed floor plans of their kitchen and undergo home inspections -- more paperwork than some states require for a full commercial food business.

Annual revenue cap
$35,000/year (increases every 4 years for inflation)
One of the most restrictive cottage food states. Requires: Cottage Food Operation Permit ($355 for 2 years with initial home inspection), food worker card ($10 for 2 years) for every person preparing food, master business license, and annual home inspections. Up to 60 days processing time for applications. Detailed floor plans, processing plans, and water testing (private wells) required. No wholesale, no retail stores, no restaurants. Shipping prohibited except during emergency proclamations.
