Montana's Local Food Choice Act (SB 199, April 2021) created a 'food freedom' framework with virtually no government regulation. No license, permit, inspection, training, or labeling required. Sellers must verbally inform buyers or display a notice that products are not inspected. One of the least regulated states in the nation for homemade food. Interstate sales and mail order prohibited.
